Under Unix, the proceedings can be unpacked by the command gunzip -c ftp97.tgz | tar xf - The result is a directory named "ftp97" (size 7.6 MB). Contents of the distribution ============================ Unpacking "ftp97.tgz" creates the directory "ftp97" which contains the following files: COPYRIGHT .......... copyright notice README ............. this file buchberg.html ...... abstract of the invited talk by Bruno Buchberger; referenced by proceedings.html filelist ........... list of all Postscript files in subdirectory "proc" ftp97.bib .......... bibliographic entries for all articles of the proceedings (BibTeX format) proc ............... subdirectory containing all Postscript files which are part of the proceedings proceedings.html ... home page of the proceedings; contains links to all files in this directory and in "proc" schloss.jpg ........ pictures of Schloss Hagenberg (used by schloss2.jpg "proceedings.html") Putting the proceedings on the web ================================== You are welcome to offer the proceedings on your own WWW server. To do this, move the archive "ftp97.tgz" to directory "ftp97"; under Unix this means: mv ftp97.tgz ftp97 and copy the whole directory to your WWW area. The entry page for the proceedings is "ftp97/proceedings.html". Printing the proceedings ======================== Each paper appears as a single Postscript file in directory "ftp97/proc". The name of the file consists of the first author's name truncated to eight letters, followed by ".ps". If your standard printer is able to handle Postscript, the paper can be printed under Unix by issuing lpr ftp97/proc/.ps Furthermore, the cover page is contained in "ftp97/proc/cover.ps", the preface in "ftp97/proc/preface.ps". To obtain a printout of the proceedings as a whole, print the files listed in "ftp97/filelist" in the given order. Under Unix, this can be achieved by the commands cd ftp97/proc cat ../filelist | xargs -l lpr (again assuming that your standard printer understands Postscript). Refering to an article of the proceedings (BibTeX) ================================================== The file "ftp97/ftp97.bib" contains bibliographic data for all articles in the proceedings. To refer to an article from within a TeX document, use the command \cite{97FTP} where is the first author's name truncated to eight characters. For further informations see the LaTeX and BibTeX manuals. Further informations ==================== ... can be obtained by sending an email to "salzer@logic.at". Vienna, 31 Oct 1997 Gernot Salzer
